Relationships-- with ourselves, others, and the world around us-- give shape and substance to our lives. When those relationships are mostly healthy, we have energy and zest for life, a general sense of optimism, capacity for creativity, and the ability to experience a wide range of emotions.
When those relationships become unhealthy, though, we tend to feel exhausted, stressed, worried, scared, sad, alone, numb, broken, stuck. Does any of that sound familiar?
Working together, we can begin to understand where your relationships have broken down and how you might get them back on track. I can help you get moving again on the path toward your goals, values, and dreams; toward the life you want to lead.
I work with people who have gotten "lost" on their paths due to all kinds of life events and circumstances, including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD, grief and loss, life transitions, phobias, negative body image, and the effects of sexism, racism, and/or heterosexism and homophobia. I have a special interest in working with adults who have histories of trauma, both chronic traumas like abuse and neglect as well as "one-time" traumas like assault.
It's important to me that you feel supported and cared for in therapy, so that we can create a space in which you can be open, honest, and vulnerable. I hope you will experience me as warm, responsive, and perceptive, while also gently challenging you to perhaps think and act in some new ways.
If you are ready to re-discover your path, please call or email to set up your first appointment!
